Artist's Comments

The most glamorous way to travel between the continents.

Trains are fine, if you want to restrict yourself to land-based travel. But who would settle for the dull colours of mountains and trees when you could see the dark valleys of the ocean and the vibrant coral reef? Choose Aronnax and its clear glass back. That the ocean is mysterious doesn't mean you should stay in the dark about it.

The second poster for the submarine liner. There's actually a third poster, but I don't think it's very good.

Hmmm. I like the other poster better -- the submarine gets cut off by the cliff and ends up looking too foreshortened in this one.

On the other hand, though, the fish and coral are awesome, and really get the ad copy that goes with it across.

Thanks. Lots of people in my class commented on the flatness of the sub, but I couldn't think of a way to make it look better without altering the whole composition. I'm just glad the colours work so well, since colour tends to be one of my weak spots.

So where are you these days? Still in art school? Was it London -- I forget. It's been a while...

Color might not be a strength for you, but you rock black-and-white and minimal color stuff in a way few people do.
